The cloud band with embedded thunderstorms over the Tasman Sea is associated
with a cold front. Cellular clouds with isolated thunderstorms can be seen in
the cold air behind the front, mostly over Tasmania, the Bass Strait and
southern Victoria.

Onshore winds are driving low cloud onto the coasts of South Australia,
southwest Victoria and western Tasmania.

High cloud is streaming across the central parts of Queensland, ahead of an
upper trough.

High cloud is also drifting onto the Cape York Peninsula district in Queensland
from thunderstorm activity further north.

A cold front is approaching the southwest parts of Western Australia.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge extending across central Australia.
