Active thunderstorms can be seen across a wide area covering eastern parts of Western Australia, the southwest of the Territory and the far west of South Australia. This convective activity lies near to, and to the east of, a surface trough. High cloud extends further east across southern parts of the Territory and the remaining districts of South Australia into western New South Wales and western Victoria.
A few isolated diurnal thunderstorms remain about the central interior of Queensland near another surface trough.
High cloud is streaming over Tasmania from a frontal system well to the west of the state. The northern portion of this front, and its associated cloud band, is moving across the far southwest of Western Australia.
