A surface trough and a strong upper disturbance are responsible for the
significant cloud band that extends across the Coral Sea and down to New

A surface trough through Western Australia and a weak cold front over the Bight
is generating a band of low to middle level cloud in the region.

Some high level cloud associated with a jet stream can be seen over SA.

The remainder of the country is relatively cloud free due to a large high
pressure system centered over western NSW.
