The monsoon trough is aligned off the northwest coast of WA extending across the
Timor Sea to the Gulf of Carpentaria and is generating thunderstorms. Cloudy
conditions persist across northern Australia with scattered thunderstorms
occuring near the coastline.

Mid level cloud across central WA is associated with a trough of low pressure.
Southerly winds are bringing areas of low cloud across southwest WA.

Clear skies are evident across most of southeastern Australia due to a firm
ridge of high pressure.
