Issued at 11:05 am EST Thursday on 23 May 2013
A cloud band extends from eastern Queensland to the northern Tasman Sea and is associated with an upper trough. Thunderstorm activity within this cloud band has mostly dissipated overnight.
Areas of low cloud also cover much of New South Wales are due to a surface low and trough. Much of southern and central WA is cloud free although low cloud is evident about the south coast and about parts of the Eucla district.
