A broad trough extends from this active region, through the centre of the country, southern QLD to northeast NSW due to a broad area of low pressure. Embedded thunderstorms can be seen over southern Queensland. Another cloud band with large amounts of thunderstorm activity extends along a surface trough that stretches from central Western Australia and joins to a cold front over southeast South Australia and western Victoria to a low west of Tasmania.
