IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 28 January 2015 Issued at 1:26 am EDT Thursday on 29 January 2015 A broad area of low pressure stretches across northern Australia and extends down western WA to the southwest of the state. This is causing cloud with isolated thunderstorms in a broad band from the north to the southwest of WA, over the Top End of the Northern Territory and over Far North Queensland. Areas of cloud with embedded thunderstorms are visible over parts of eastern New South Wales and southeastern Queensland and are associated with a trough. Another trough with a developing low over the Tasman Sea has generated an extensive cloud band. The rest of the country remains mostly clear apart from some low cloud in the Bight extending across to Tasmania and eastern Victoria.
