A cold front extends from eastern Victoria, across waters east of Tasmania into
a low pressure system to the southeast of Hobart. A significant pool of cold air
behind this front is seen crossing Tasmania, producing showers, hail and
snowfalls to low levels. Low cloud and windy conditions associated with this
system are also impacting Victoria and southeast NSW.

A large area of cloud over the Indian Ocean is associated with a mid level
disturbance, with patchy high cloud starting to stream eastwards across the
Western Australia coast.

Low cloud is seen across the Bight and is trapped under a weak ridge of high

A trough and a cold front in the Tasman Sea are triggering a band of
thunderstorms with high and middle level cloud extending over the South Island
of New Zealand.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear.
