Areas of mid level cloud over Western Australia is due to a an upper level trough. Cloud band associated with an approaching cold front is visible over waters south west of WA. A trought and a cold front is extending through the Bight and into the Southern Ocean and is causing embedded thunderstorm activity.
Convective cloud and cold air remains over the Tasman Sea region due to a complex area of low pressure. Convective cloud is also visible near the Top End of Australia and the Kimberley coast.
