A low pressure trough extends through central WA and NT down to a cold front
clipping the south coast of Tasmania. This trough/front is producing a
significant low-level cloud band over central Victoria and Tasmania. Extensive
thunderstorm activity continues to the north of the trough throughout the Top
End of NT whilst an embedded low in central WA is associated with an area of
middle level cloud.

Further east, a strong upper level trough over the the northern interior of
Queensland is combining with a moist northeasterly airstream. This is resulting
in widespread cloud cover over much of eastern Queensland and northern NSW.

A high pressure system to the southwest of WA is directing an onshore flow and
associated low level cloud onto much of the South Australian coast.
