A trough over the Tasman Sea is producing a broad area of cloud with isolated thunderstorms, while a cool southwesterly airstream behind the trough is resulting in areas of low cloud about the southeast of the country.
Patchy middle level cloud is evident over parts of western WA and also southern parts of the NT and northern SA, with a band of cloud extending from far eastern SA into the NSW and southern QLD. This cloud is associated with and upper level disturbance. The remainder of the Australian continent is relatively cloud free.
