Showers and thunderstorms are active about the Kimberley and Pilbara distrcts of
Western Australia due to a low pressure trough. High and middle level cloud is
streaming from this area through the interior and across the Bight. An
established upper level trough is generating this extensive cloud band.
Thunderstorms are also occuring over parts of the Northern Territory and far
north Queensland.

Further south, a strong cold front moving across the Tasman Sea while another
strong frontal system is approaching Tasmania. A significant area of cloud is
streaming ahead of this front across Tasmania and Bass Strait. This front
connects to a developing low to the south.
