A strong cold front that links to a low pressure system to the south of Tasmania is moving across the southeast of the country and its associated cloud band is bring showers and isolated thunderstorms to South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. Low pressure systems and trough are embedded in the vigorous westerly airstream over the Southern Ocean to the west of this front.
Patchy middle level cloud is visible over the northwest of Western Australia. Areas of low cloud are over the south coast of Western Australia and the central coast of Queensland in a moist onshore airstream.
Sub-Tropical Ridge stretches across the middle of the continent and maintains mainly clear skies.
