Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 22 September 2014

Issued at 7:03 pm EST Monday on 22 September 2014

Middle level cloud and isolated thunderstorms, associated with a strong cold front, is moving across southeastern Western Australia. While cold air behind the front is bringing low cloud and showers to the southwest of the state.

Extensive cloud through eastern Queensland and northern New South Wales is due to an upper level trough. Isolated thunderstorms are occurring within this cloud mass. Further north, high cloud is streaming from Papua New Guinea across the Coral Sea.

A ridge of high pressure is maintaining mostly clear conditions across the remainder of the country.
