An extensive cloud band just off the Queensland east coast extends towards the
North Island of New Zealand and is due to a surface trough and associated upper
level trough.

Patchy middle-level cloud about southern Queensland is caused by an upper level

An unstable west/southwesterly flow is bringing patchy low cloud to parts of
Tasmania, southern Victoria and South Australia while an area of convective
cloud just off the New South Wales coast is due to another trough.

A strong cold front and its associated cloud band is approaching Western
Australia from the Indian Ocean and high cloud in advance of this system already
covers parts of the Southwest Land Division.
