IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 27 December 2014 Issued at 5:12 am EDT Sunday on 28 December 2014 A broad cloud band extends from northern parts of the Territory to northeastern New South Wales and is associated with an upper trough. Isolated embedded thunderstorms remain about the Top End and Gulf Country. The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free although a little high cloud is streaming into the northwest Gascoyne and western Pilbara regions of WA from Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate" which remains slow moving to the west of the Cocos Islands. A cold front is moving over waters well to the south of the Great Australian Bight.
