Satellite Notes for 1800UTC chart on 21 November 2014

Issued at 5:12 am EDT Saturday on 22 November 2014

A broad mass of cloud with embedded thunderstorms lies over large parts of northern Australia. This cloud is associated with areas of low pressure across the north and a surface trough over inland parts of Queensland which extends into the Tasman Sea. Convective activity just off the NSW north coast is also due to this trough.

A band of cloud with a few embedded thunderstorms extends from coastal areas of South Australia to the west coast of Tasmania. This cloud is associated with another trough. Some isolated thunderstorms have also developed overnight about the central interior of South Australia to the east of the trough.

Patchy low-level cloud can be seen about mostly coastal areas of the Southwest Land Division of WA within a moist onshore airflow.
