Issued at 12:14 pm EST Wednesday on 19 June 2013

A broad cloud band extends from the Pilbara region WA into the interior of the continent and the Bight. The cloud band originates from an area of convection near a tropical low near the Cocos Islands. Further south, a low pressure system is evident offshore from the Esperence Coast with some embedded thunderstorm activity near its centre.

Southerly winds with areas of low cloud are persisting over coastal regions of Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales.

The remainder of the country is generally clear apart from some low to mid level cloud over the Top End, the Cape York Peninsula and the Gulf of Carpentaria.
