A trough of low pressure stretching over central Western Australia is producing
a large mass of middle level cloud and thunderstorms. Middle and high level
cloud is streaming from this system across southern South Australia, Victoria
and Tasmania.

A cloud band associated with a cold front is located near New Zealand, with cold
air to the west of this system producing large areas of speckled cloud to the
south and west of Tasmania. A second cold front is approaching WA from the west
producing a cloud band.

Another trough extends across northern WA and the Northern Territory, with
showers and thunderstorms occurring to the north of this trough.
