Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie (category 4) has made landfall near Airlie Beach
in Queensland. The rotation and the eye of this system can be clearly seen in
the impressive and extensive mass of cloud over the Coral Sea and east
Queensland coastal areas.

An active trough is producing extensive areas of thunderstorm activity across
the north and northwest of the country with a weak low located off the Kimberley
coast of WA. High cloud can be seen streaming across the southwest parts of WA.

A cold front associated with mostly low cloud is approaching Tasmania from the
west.
