A deep low pressure system over New Zealand and associated cold pool are
producing low cloud over much of the Tasman Sea. A strong cold front and
associated cloudband is crossing Tasmania and southern Victoria with some
isolated thunderstorms. While another cold front and cloudband is approaching
the southwest coast of Western Australia.

A ridge of high pressure is responsible for keeping the rest of the continent
mainly cloud free, with just some patchy high cloud streaming down over northern
Australia.
