Cloud band with embedded thunderstorms across the central parts of the country
is due to surface and upper level troughs. Thunderstorms off the northwest coast
of Western Australia is associated with a tropical low located further
northwest.

A cold front with an associated cloud band and embedded thunderstorms can be
seen moving across the southeast parts of the country. The cold front spirals
into a low pressure system located over southwest Tasmania.

Low cloud is visible along the southern coast of the country in the cool
westerly airstream behind the cold front.
