A moist northeasterly airflow, directed onto the continent's east coast by a
high pressure system in the Tasman Sea, is interacting with a trough lying
across inland Queensland. This is producing patchy cloud along coastal and
adjacent areas from Queensland through to the NSW/VIC border.

A broad area of low pressure across northern Australia is producing a patchy but
prominent cloud band with showers and isolated embedded thunderstorms stretching
from northwest WA and Territory's Top End, through central Australia and
throughout most of SA.

Further west, a cold front over the southern parts of the Indian Ocean is
approaching southwest WA with a thick, cloud band associated with system
approaching the WA coast.
