IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 28 August 2015 Issued at 11:40 am EST Friday on 28 August 2015 A middle level disturbance over northern WA has generated an area of middle level cloud over the NT. Embedded thunderstorms are evident on the western flank of this cloud mass and can be attributed to a series of low pressure troughs in the area. Low to middle level cloud over southeast Queensland is moving offshore as the surface trough continues towards the northern Tasman Sea. A moist southerly onshore over southeast Australia has produced areas of low cloud. Convective clouds are observed in the cold air mass behind a weakening cold front east of Tasmania. Patchy cloud remains over central and southern WA as a result of a surface trough near the west coast.
