Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 2 September 2014

Issued at 12:06 pm EST Tuesday on 02 September 2014

The cloud band over the southeast and the Tasman Sea is associated with an active cold front and surface trough. Cold-air cloud behind this front can be seen over Victoria and Tasmania.

Cloud over southern Western Australia is due to the combination of a low pressure trough over the Indian Ocean and an upper level jet stream.

The northern half of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure extending northwards from the Bight.
