Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 26 July 2014

Issued at 11:58 am EST Saturday on 26 July 2014

An area of cloud over Victoria and Tasmania is associated with a low pressure system over Bass Strait.

Another area of cloud extends from northern QLD to the central NSW coast, and is associated with a trough in the lower to middle levels of the atmosphere. Thunderstorms are visible over NE NSW and off the NSW coast.

An extensive cloud band moving over the far southwest corner of WA is associated with a vigorous cold front.

Remaining areas of the country are mostly clear due to a strong high pressure system.
