IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 6 February 2016 Issued at 11:26 am EDT Saturday on 06 February 2016 A low pressure trough extends from the Kimberley in Western Australia, across the tropical north to a broad area of low pressure over the eastern Queensland, triggering extensive areas of showers and thunderstorms. A band of middle and high level cloud extends along another trough from the Queensland coast to Coral Sea and into a deep low pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea. A high pressure ridge centred near Tasmania is directing a moist onshore flow and areas of low cloud to the New South Wales coast, eastern Victoria and Tasmania.
