A monsoon trough and a weak tropical low south of Java are enhancing the shower
and thunderstorm activity off the northwest of the country.

A broad trough extends from this active region, through the centre of the
country, southern QLD to northeast NSW due to a broad area of low pressure.
Embedded thunderstorms can be seen over southern Queensland.

Another cloud band with large amounts of thunderstorm activity extends along a
surface trough that stretches from central Western Australia and joins to a cold
front over southeast South Australia and western Victoria to a low west of
Tasmania.
