A broad low pressure trough lies over the eastern parts of the continent. An
extensive cloud band with showers and thunderstorms extends along this trough.

A second inland trough extends north/south through WA and is also responsible
for triggering convective activity over southern WA and western SA.

A cold front associated with a weak low over southwest WA has generated showers
and thunderstorms within its vicinity.

Rest of the country is mostly clear under the influence of high pressure ridges.
