A band of middle and high level cloud with embedded thunderstorms is streaming
from southwestern Queensland across New South Wales to the Tasman Sea. This is
associated with surface and upper level troughs. Afternoon thunderstorms are
visible in the vicinity of a surface trough over the northern parts of the
country.

A cold front is approaching Tasmania from the west with patchy high cloud
drifting across southwest Western Australia and southern Tasmania.

The remainder of the country lies under generally clear skies.
