A cold front moving across the southern Tasman Sea is attached to a low well
south of Tasmania and a trough extending through New South Wales into southern
Queensland. Thunderstorms are occurring in the middle and high level cloud along
the trough, with the assistance of a mid-level disturbance.

Onshore southerlies are causing low cloud along the coast from eastern WA to
western Victoria and along the Tasmanian west coast.

A large area of jetstream cloud is moving across the Southern Ocean ahead of a
cold front.

Afternoon convective cloud is present over northern Queensland and Northern
Territory. A ridge of high pressure at the head of the Bight is keeping the
western half of the continent cloud free.
