A cloud band with embedded thunderstorms over central and eastern parts of Western Australia extends into the Great Australian Bight. This cloud is associated with a slow-moving surface trough. Isolated seasonal thunderstorms can also be seen over the far northern tropics of Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Frontal cloud over New Zealand and the eastern Tasman Sea connects to a deep low to the west of New Zealand. Patchy low cloud over Tasmania and southern Victoria lies within a moist southwesterly airflow to the west of this low.
