IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 17 December 2014 Issued at 6:42 am EDT Thursday on 18 December 2014 A broad area of low pressure extends from the WA interior across central Australia and through to the western Queensland and northeastern New South Wales. This is generating areas of patchy mid level cloud with embedded thunderstorms over the interior of the country, extending on to northern and central parts of SA and northern parts of New South Wales. Thunderstorm activity is evident across the northern tropics of the country. Cloud associated with a cold front and its pre-frontal trough can be seen approaching Tasmania and western Victoria.
