A jetstream and upper level trough is resulting in a broad mass of middle and high level cloud streaming across central and eastern parts of the continent. This mass of cloud then connects with a trough over the Tasman Sea. Scattered thunderstorm activity remains visible over the Kimberley region of Western Australia, western parts of the Northern Territory and the southeast of Queensland.
Cloud associated with a cold front now lies over eastern Tasmania, while low cloud remains about coastal South Australia and Victoria due to an onshore flow.
A streak of high cloud associated with a jet stream extends from the Indian Ocean across the central western coast of WA, while the remainder of the country is under mostly clear skies.
