A complex low pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea and a large area of cold air convective cloud associated with the low can be seen just to the east of the continent. Patchy low cloud remains about parts of Tasmania and Victoria within the southerly airstream well to the west of the complex low. A weakened frontal band is located over southern of WA. High cloud in advance of this weakened front is associated with a surface trough and the jet stream and is streaming from the northwest of WA to southern South Australia. Another front with embedded thunderstorms is approaching from the southwest.
