A broad area of cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers large parts of Western
Australia and extends into the Top End of the Territory. This cloud is
associated with an inland trough over WA. Isolated convective cloud can also be
seen just off the tropical north coast of Queensland while a developing tropical
low lies well to the east in the Coral Sea.

Areas of cloud wrapping around a deep, slow-moving low pressure system in the
Tasman Sea cover parts of Tasmania, eastern Victoria and the far southeast of
New South Wales. Isolated thunderstorms have also developed just off the
northern New South Wales coast overnight.

The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free.
