A low pressure trough lies across northern Australia, with the embedded
EX-Tropical Cyclone Alfred over the Gulf of Carpentaria. Showers and
thunderstorms are still evident near the ex-TC, mostly over far north QLD.
Middle level cloud from the outflow of ex-TC Alfred is also present over most of
central QLD.

In the west, a series of cold fronts over southern WA is producing scattered
showers and thunderstorms near their vicinity. A prefrontal trough of low
pressure has also generated a patchy cloud band ahead of the leading front over
the Eucla district.
