Issued at 1:03 pm EDT Wednesday on 26 November 2014

An extensive cloud band, with embedded thunderstorms, stretches from the Kimberly down to the southwest of WA with a trough of low pressure. While a middle to high level cloud band extends from the Northern Territory, through southern Queensland and northeastern NSW to a cold front over New Zealand.

Cool southerly winds behind a cold front are resulting in areas of low cloud over much of Tasmania and near the south coast of Victoria and South Australia.
