IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 4 August 2015 Issued at 6:36 pm EST Tuesday on 04 August 2015 A cloud band extends from the coast of southeast Queensland across the Tasman Sea to a cold front near New Zealand. A cold front and its associated cloud band are approaching Tasmania from the Southern Ocean. Southwesterly flow driven by a high pressure ridge to the southwest of the continent has brought areas of low cloud to the southern parts of the country. Interaction between an upper level disturbance and a surface trough has generated an extensive area of cloud over the Indian Ocean, with high cloud streaming ahead of the system to the southwestern WA. The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to a high pressure ridge.
