It now stretches from the Timor Sea across the Northern Territory, Queensland, northeast New South Wales and the Tasman Sea towards the South Island of New Zealand. A mass of cold air behind the front is being driven onshore, bringing low cloud to Tasmania, Victoria and southeast South Australia.
