A broad mass of cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers large parts of northern, central and eastern Australia. This cloud is associated with areas of low pressure over the north and centre of the continent and a trough over South Australia. Another, weakening trough lies over the northeast of New South Wales.
A cloud band associated with a cold front is moving over waters to the south of the Great Australian Bight. Patchy low cloud in its wake can be seen along parts of the south coast of Western Australia.
