IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC Chart on 30 August 2016 Issued at 5:02 pm EST Tuesday on 30 August 2016 A northwest cloud band extends from the Kimberley through central Australia, southwest Queensland, northeast South Australia, then across New South Wales and Victoria. High level cloud is streaming out ahead of this band over Bass Strait, Tasmania, and the Tasman Sea. Isolated thunderstorms are occuring over eastern SA in the cooler air behind the cloud band. Areas of low cloud are visible over parts of southeastern WA and SA as a low to the south of the Bight directs moisture onshore. Middle level cloud is also being driven over the southwest coast of WA ahead of a cold front currently to the southwest of the continent. Patchy low level cloud can also be seen along the east coast of Queensland in a moist southeasterly airflow.
