Low cloud about the South Australian, Tasmanian, Victorian and New South Wales coast is due to a high pressure system over the Great Australian Bight and the moist onshore winds.
Another area of low cloud over southern Western Australia is associated with northwesterly winds ahead of an approaching cold front. While the remainder of the continent is mostly cloud free.
