A broad cloud band extends from northern parts of the Territory to northeastern
New South Wales and is associated with an upper trough. Isolated embedded
thunderstorms remain about the Top End and Gulf Country. Isolated thunderstorm
activity is also evident over the inland region of New South Wales.

The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free. Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate"
which remains slow moving to the west of the Cocos Islands. A cold front is
moving over waters well to the south of the Great Australian Bight.
