Issued at 5:40 am EDT Friday on 06 March 2015

Showers and thunderstorms are active about the Kimberley and Pilbara distrcts of
Western Australia due to a low pressure trough. High and middle level cloud is
streaming from this area through the interior and across the Bight. An
established upper level trough is generating this extensive cloud band.
Thunderstorms are also occuring over parts of the Top End and far north

Further south, a strong cold front is moving across the Tasman Sea while another
strong frontal system is impacting Tasmania. A significant area of cloud is
streaming ahead of this front across Bass Strait and eastern Victoria. This
front connects to a developing low to the south.
