A cloud band with embedded showers and thunderstorms through the Kimberley region of WA to central Australia including the Alice Springs District and inland parts of Queensland. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are also evident over the far northeast corner of NSW including offshore and out over the Tasman Sea. This activity is associated with an active inland trough that lies over northern Australia and stretches down through NSW.
A weak trough over the far southwest corner of WA combined with a moist onshore flow is resulting in low level cloud over the area.
A cloud band through the Great Australian Bight that extends over southeastern parts of SA is associated with a jet in the upper levels of the atmosphere.
Patchy lower level cloud along the southeast coast of the country is associated with a moist onshore flow around a low level trough.
The remainder of Australia is generally clear.
