The monsoon trough is aligned off the northwest coast of WA extending across the
Timor Sea to north of the Gulf of Carpentaria and is generating thunderstorms.
Cloudy conditions and isolated thunderstorms persist across large parts of
northern Australia.

Patchy mid level cloud over the central interior of WA is associated with a
trough of low pressure. Southerly onshore flow drive by a high pressure ridge
over the Indian Ocean is bringing areas of low cloud to southern WA.

Clear skies are evident across most of southeastern Australia due to a firm
ridge of high pressure centred over western Tasman Sea.
