A broad cloud band extends from the Top End of the Territory to southern
Queensland and northern and eastern New South Wales. This cloud is associated
with an upper trough. Embedded thunderstorms remain over northern parts of the
Territory and isolated thunderstorms can also be seen about the far north of the
Kimberley region in Western Australia.

A weak cold front and its associated cloud band is moving across the far
southwest of Tasmania. Remaining parts of Australia are mostly cloud free.

Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate" is located to the west of the Cocos Islands and
is slowly moving further away.
