IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 26 December 2014 Issued at 5:11 am EDT Saturday on 27 December 2014 A broad cloud band extends from the Top End of the Territory to southern Queensland and northern and eastern New South Wales. This cloud is associated with an upper trough. Embedded thunderstorms remain over northern parts of the Territory and isolated thunderstorms can also be seen about the far north of the Kimberley region in Western Australia. A weak cold front and its associated cloud band is moving across the far southwest of Tasmania. Remaining parts of Australia are mostly cloud free. Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate" is located to the west of the Cocos Islands and is slowly moving further away.
