Tropical Cyclone "Marcus" (Category 1) is now past Darwin and heading towards
the northern Kimberley. Extensive shower and thunderstorm activity is associated
with it. The monsoon trough extends from "Marcus" across Torres Strait to a
small tropical low over the northwest Coral Sea.

Further south, middle and high level cloud is over the Bight, southern South
Australia and Victoria. This is due to a strong jet stream and an upper trough.

A strong cold front is over southwest Western Australia with a pronounced pool
of cold air to the south, the "speckled" cloud.

The interior of the continent is mostly clear.
