IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 28 December 2014 Issued at 5:13 am EDT Monday on 29 December 2014 A broad band of patchy middle-level cloud extends from northern parts of the Territory to the far northeast of New South Wales and is associated with a trough. Isolated thunderstorms remain embedded within the cloud band about the Top End and Gulf Country while isolated thunderstorms can also be seen to the north of the cloud band about parts of Tropical North Queensland. The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free apart from very isolated convective cloud about western New South Wales to the east of another trough. Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate" continues to move further away from the Cocos Islands while a cold front is approaching southern coastal areas of South Australia from the Great Australian Bight.
