International summer school for Observing, Assimilating and Forecasting the Ocean

GODAE Summer School

11-22 January 2010; Perth, Australia

The international summer school for observing, assimilating and forecasting the ocean is a two week program offered to early career scientists, professionals and students on the current state of the art in operational oceanography and related advances in the ocean sciences. The course will include topics covering the leading edge science in ocean observing systems, as well as the latest methods and techniques for analysis, data assimilation and ocean modelling. Lectures will be given by leading experts in these fields including:

Jacques Verron - LEGI, Grenoble, France
Eric Chassignet - Florida State University, USA
Pierre-Yves Le Traon - Ifremer, France

The summer school is sponsored by the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO, NOAA, IOC-Perth and UWA and will be held in Perth, Western Australia in January 2010. To learn more about the summer school, select one of the following links:
